In the same day, you can ski in the morning at Turini Camp d'Argent with easy slopes ideal for children, away from the crowds of the alpine resorts, and set sail in the afternoon, go alongside the coast under the sunbeams.
From cycling on the winding roads of the hinterland, to biking on the rocky paths, enthusiastics riders will inevitably find their happiness in our territory. Enduro routes from the Roya and Bévéra Valleys will take you to Menton. Shuttle services by reservation are available in Breil and Sospel.
How about taking, by bike or on foot, an old military road ? These are perched at an altitude of 1,800-2,000 meters, converted into a tourist route. In the high valley, the high salt road follows the crests of the Italian-French frontier and stand alongside military forts impressively huge, in a magnificent landscape surrounded by nature. This road has the advantage of being reserved for pedestrians and bikers on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Enough to convince the most reluctant to walk or cycle!
What about the GR*? There are dozens of them. By the “côte d’azur’s balconies” (GR51), you can reach Menton, starting from La Turbie, and passing through Gorbio and Ste-Agnès. They owe their name to the old mule tracks that overlook the Mediterranean. The decor is magical, thanks to the unique relief of the mountains that dive into the sea. After that we can go a little further inland, to hike in the Valley of Merveilles and get lost in the immensity of mother nature, in search of decorated caves. From lake to lake, we cross the Mercantour park. You can choose to split your path in two with a stop at the Refuge des Merveilles on the GR52.
Surrounded by mountains plunging into the sea, landlocked between Italy and the Principality of Monaco, the territory of Menton, Riviera & Merveilles is naturally preserved. This geography has given its inhabitants an almost insular character, eager to preserve their heritage.
